Bring your phone numbers to HostedVoice.us

Tell us where your numbers are today, check the details against your latest phone bill, and sign the Letter of Authorization online. It takes about ten minutes, and your current service keeps working until the transfer is done.

Have these ready

  • Your most recent bill from the current provider (less than 30 days old)
  • The account number, and the account PIN or passcode if there is one
  • The name and service address exactly as they appear on that bill
  • For mobile numbers, a Number Transfer PIN from the carrier's app

How long it takes

  • Local numbers: usually 5 to 10 business days after you sign
  • Toll-free numbers: usually 1 to 2 weeks
  • We email you the confirmed date as soon as your current provider sets it
  • Don't cancel your current service until we tell you the transfer is complete

Which numbers are moving?

Paste or type them in any format, one per line or separated by commas. Ranges work too, like 229-555-2100 to 2109. You can add a label after a number, like 229-555-2100 Front desk.

Your current provider

Copy these from your latest bill. Your current provider checks every detail, and a mismatch is the most common reason a transfer is rejected.

It can be a number you're not moving.

The account holder

Exactly as the current provider has it. Use the physical address where the phones are, not a PO box.

Who signs the authorization?

The Letter of Authorization must be signed by the account holder or someone authorized on the account. We email them a secure link and a one-time code.

Schedule and setup

Leave blank for the earliest date. Your current provider confirms the final date.

A copy of your latest bill

Upload the most recent bill (within 30 days), including the page that lists the numbers. A PDF or clear phone photo is fine. Up to 3 files, 10 MB each.

Review and send

Check everything against your bill. Then preview the Letter of Authorization exactly as it will be signed.

When you send this, we email the Letter of Authorization to the signer with a secure link. It arrives from MORnet Communications — HostedVoice.us is a brand of MORnet Communications, LLC — so please look for that name, and check your spam folder if it doesn't appear.

Nothing is submitted to your current provider until it's signed and our porting team has reviewed it. See our privacy policy.

Questions

What is a Letter of Authorization?

It's a short document, signed by the account holder, that authorizes HostedVoice.us to ask your current provider to transfer your numbers. Every provider requires one. You sign it online here; we confirm it's you with a one-time code sent to your email, and you get a copy of the signed letter.

Will my phones stop working during the transfer?

Your current service keeps working until the transfer happens on the scheduled day. Most transfers take effect between 8 AM and 3 PM Eastern, and calls start ringing on HostedVoice.us within minutes. We'll have your new phones or apps ready before then.

Should I cancel my old service?

Not yet. Cancelling early can release your numbers and lose them. Once we tell you the transfer is complete, cancel anything that didn't move. Your current provider may charge final or early-termination fees; those stay between you and them.

Why was my transfer rejected?

Almost always because a detail doesn't match the current provider's records: the name, the service address, the account number, or the PIN. That's why we ask you to copy them from your bill. If it happens, we'll tell you exactly what to fix and send a corrected letter to sign.

Can I move just some of my numbers?

Yes. The numbers you don't list stay with your current provider. If your main (billing) number is moving, pick which remaining number becomes the new main number on your old account.

What about toll-free numbers?

They move by changing their "Responsible Organization" in the national toll-free registry. You sign a separate one-page authorization, and it usually takes 1 to 2 weeks. Some registries still insist on an ink signature; if yours does, we'll send you a printable copy.

I'd rather sign on paper.

That's fine. On the signing page, choose Decline at the electronic-records notice, and our porting team will send you a printable letter. Or call us at (877) 280-7478.
